Shauna Kasey

Shauna lives in Shepherdsville, KY.  She became a member of Make a Difference for Kids, Inc. after family and friends lost someone who was dear to them to suicide. Shauna also lost her dad, who was her best friend, to suicide in 2005. Shauna has wanted to do something ever since she lost her father but wasn’t sure what to do. When the chance came to become a part of Make A Difference For Kids, Inc. she knew that was where she needed to be. Shauna also supports her community as a certified trainer for QPR Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention and a member of the Bullitt County Suicide Coalition. Shauna has three children of school age. She is very concerned about bullying, both physical and cyberbullying, which is another reason why she felt the need to be more involved.

"This is one of those issues that unless you have been affected by it in some way you tend to overlook it, and for some parents it is to late by the time they know what is going on. So we need to make EVERONE aware of how serious this issue can be. We need the children to know how serious this is, that it is not fun and games. Bullying can be as dangerous as a gun, or a drunk driver. If we can help save one child it was worth every thing we have put into it."
